چکیده

This work proposes a novel hot routes inferring approach without the support of real road network. Discovery of hot routes is important to the applications that requiring classifies the traffic flow or profiles the dynamic of the city, such as targeted advertising, traffic management and control. The advances of location-acquisition technologies have led to a huge collection of objects’ trajectories in the road network, which give us the chances to finding hot routes conveniently. However, it is difficult to effectively detect hot routes without the support of the available road map. To address this issue, we first develop a Road Network Constructing Algorithm (RNCA) that extract road network from vehicular trajectories using image processing methods, and then propose a Hot Route Inferring Algorithm (HRRA) based on the extracted road network. Meanwhile, a novel road matching operation is also developed to match trajectory points onto roads. We have conducted extensive experiments on real dataset of taxi trajectories. Simulation results show that the proposed RNCA and HRRA are both effective and efficient.

Traffic Density-Based Discovery of Hot Routes in Road Networks

Finding hot routes (traffic flow patterns) in a road network is an important problem. They are beneficial to city planners, police departments, real estate developers, and many others. Knowing the hot routes allows the city to better direct traffic or analyze congestion causes. In the past, this problem has largely been addressed with domain knowledge of city. But in recent years, detailed info...

Feature Engineering for Map Matching of Low-Sampling-Rate GPS Trajectories in Road Network

Map matching of GPS trajectories from a sequence of noisy observations serves the purpose of recovering the original routes in a road network. In this work in progress, we attempt to share our experience of feature construction in a spatial database by reporting our ongoing experiment of feature extraction in Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) for map matching. Our preliminary results are obtaine...

Inferring Gas Consumption and Pollution Emissions of Vehicles throughout a City

This paper instantly infers the gas consumption and pollution emission of vehicles traveling on a city’s road network in a current time slot, using GPS trajectories from a sample of vehicles (e.g., taxicabs). The knowledge can be used to suggest cost-efficient driving routes as well as identifying road segments where gas has been wasted significantly. The instant estimation of the emissions fro...

Survey the Security Function of Integration of vehicular ad hoc Networks with Software-defiend Networks

In recent years, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged as one of the most active areas in the field of technology to provide a wide range of services, including road safety, passenger's safety, amusement facilities for passengers and emergency facilities. Due to the lack of flexibility, complexity and high dynamic network topology, the development and management of current Vehicular A...

Inferring Road Type in Crowdsourced Map Services

In crowdsourced map services, digital maps are created and updated manually by volunteered users. Existing service providers usually provide users with a feature-rich map editor to add, drop, and modify roads. To make the map data more useful for widely-used applications such as navigation systems and travel planning services, it is important to provide not only the topology of the road network...
